 #DEAN WENT FROM THINKING ‘LEAVE ME ALONE’ #TO ‘PLEASE DON’T GO’ #HE NEVER EXPECTED THAT DID HE? #THAT HE COULD GO FROM LOATHING SOMETHING TO LOVING IT IN A MATTER OF YEARS #THAT HE COULD ACTUALLY SEE SOMETHING THAT WASN’T HUMAN #AND INSTEAD OF FEELING ANGER OR HATRED OR FEAR #FEEL LOVE AND FAMILIARITY AND SAFETY #I’M SURE IT STILL SCARES HIM SOMETIMES

#and the whole time cas’ expression barely changed #because he’s been able to see dean’s soul from day one #he saw dean at his darkest moment and loved him anyway #and never stopped loving him even through everything #dean’s change is so drastic #but the only difference for cas is understanding human pain and suffering and guilt on a level he never did before #but even when his understanding of these things was abstract he loved dean in spite of them #WHY CAN’T YOU ASSHOLES JUST BE TOGETHER YOU STUPID IN-LOVE BASTARDS
